The Ghanaian Battalion serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) GHANBATT 11 has held a religious parade dubbed Pascal Lamp Service on Sunday 24 September 2023 at the Paradise Dome at the headquarters of the GHANBATT. During the service, the Pascal Lamp was passed on from GHANBATT 10 to GHANBATT 11. This signified that the perpetual flame lit by the first Ghana Battalion in South Sudan needed to be kept aflame throughout the tour of duty of GHANBATT 11. The Acting Head of Field Office (HoFO) of Sector Unity, Madam Jane Kony in addressing the Church Parade commended Colonel (Col) Prince Tandoh for his astute leadership and enormous contributions of GHANBATT 10 towards the achievement of the mandate of the United Nations (UN) in safeguarding peace in South Sudan. She was optimistic that GHANBATT 11 would work assiduously toward the success of mandate of UNMISS. She charged personnel of GHANBATT 11 to remain resolute, maintain high standards and professionalism at all times during their tour of duty.
