The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) Ghana Battalion 4 (GHANBATT 4) has commenced Mission Leadership Training at the Army Peace Operations Training School, Bundase, on Monday 13 January 2025. The programme which has been scheduled into two phases includes a three-week Mission Leadership Training for officers and key appointment holders and a seven-week military skills validation training that aims to equip the troops with essential skills to effectively discharge their mission mandate in Abyei. In his keynote, Colonel Dela Kluste, Commander of APOTS, emphasised the training's significance in promoting peace and security in Abyei. He urged participants to uphold professionalism, collaborate with instructors and adhere to high discipline standards throughout the training.
