The newly appointed Turkish Defence Attaché (DA) to Ghana, Colonel (Col) Ahmet Pakis, has paid a visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday 25 September 2024. Col Pakis expressed his commitment to fostering maritime cooperation and training with the Ghana Navy and reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the maritime domain. Rear Admiral Yakubu thanked the DA for his visit and encouraged him to consider incorporating training programs for Ghana Navy officers in Turkey, emphasising the invaluable knowledge and experience such opportunities would provide. He highlighted the importance of specialised training for Ghana Navy personnel in addressing modern maritime challenges, stating, “Investing in the training of our officers is crucial for maintaining security in our waters,” he added.
