The School of Maritime Operations (SMOPS) has held a graduation parade for the Seaman Gunner Specialist Qualification Course Class One (SG 1) 2025 on Thursday, 18 September 2025 at the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) Parade Grounds, Nutekpor. The parade demonstrated the graduates’ mastery of military drill and ceremonial skills while showcasing their discipline, cohesion and professionalism. It embodies the core values of precision, strength and service excellence. The Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer, Master Coxswain Ghana Navy, Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO) Ayelvae Lawrence commended the graduates for their resilience and dedication throughout the course. He emphasized that Seaman Gunners serve as guardians of naval platforms, protectors of shipmates and sentinels of Ghana’s maritime sovereignty. MCPO Ayelvae reminded the graduands charged the Seaman Gunners to be diligent with work and lead by example and uphold the Navy’s highest standards of courage, loyalty and professionalism as they return to their respective units. Leading Seaman Richard Asafo was adjudged Best in Academics and Overall Best in Order of Merit. \
