The Roverman Productions has staged a play for charity at Burma Camp on Sunday, 21 September 2025 in support of an initiative of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to establish a Special Needs School. Speaking at the event, the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, explained that the initiative was informed by personal experiences and the growing number of children with special needs within Ghanaian society. He described the project as a laudable step that would not only benefit dependents of GAF personnel but also serve the wider public. Drawing inspiration from the story of the Red Cross Society, CDS acknowledged that the task ahead may be daunting. However, he reaffirmed his determination to lead the drive and mobilise funds for the project, citing its necessity to both GAF and external communities. The CDS as a token of his appreciation, presented an art portrait to the Director, Roverman Productions, Uncle Ebo Whyte for his support. In his opening remarks, the Director General of Human Resources at GAF, Air Commodore Thomas Niifio Okai, stressed that children with special needs deserve the opportunity to grow, develop and realise their full potential. He noted that ensuring their inclusion in the educational system is a collective responsibility of society. Establishing such institution would restore the dignity of these children and support government’s vision of an all-inclusive educational sector, he added. Mr. Mikki Osei Berko, popularly known as Master Richard of "Taxi Driver" fame, who appealled for funds during the programme, called on well meaning Ghanaians and businesses to support the effort. Such support could be sent through GAF Special Needs School Account: 1100108597800, Services Integrity Savings & Loans (SISL). Burma Camp Branch or through the Code *753*10#
