NATIONAL INVESTMENT BANK EXTENDS SYMPATHY TO CDS

Mr Thomas Hughes Amissah leading a delegation from the National Investment Bank (NIB), by has on Thursday 14 August 2025 paid a condolence call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, at the General Headquarters.

Mr Amissah explained that the purpose of the visit was to express solidarity with the CDS and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) following the recent national tragedy. He offered prayers for strength, unity, and comfort during this period, adding his hope that such a calamity would never recur and that its memory would serve as a reminder to guard against future threats. The delegation supported the bereaved families with a monetary donation.

Lieutenant General Agyapong described the past week as one of the most challenging periods for the country, particularly for GAF, as the incident claimed the lives of the Minister for Defence and three dedicated military personnel. He recalled the professionalism and skill of the fallen crew, having personally experienced their competence during his inspection tour.

The CDS expressed gratitude for NIB’s visit and encouragement, noting that such acts of support strengthen the morale of the Armed Forces in trying times. He assured that their sympathies would be shared with the affected families and reaffirmed GAF’s resolve to draw hope and purpose from the sacrifice of the fallen.
