The Commanding Officer (CO) of the Ghanaian Battalion deployed with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL GHANBATT 91), Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isaac Kobe Boako, has been inducted into office. The ceremony, held on Sunday 29 September 2024, was an integral part of the Ghana Armed Forces' customs to officially usher the CO and his appointment holders into office. In his address, Lt Col Boako emphasised the importance of spiritual fortitude, urging all personnel to place their trust in God throughout their mission in Southern Lebanon. He also stressed the need for discipline, professionalism, and steadfastness in the execution of their duties under the mandate of the United Nations. The officiating clergy, Flight Lieutenant Moses Abankwa (Chaplain) and Lieutenant (GN) Abdul Mannan Yusif (Imam), offered spiritual exhortations based on the theme, "There Can Be No Retreat," encouraging the troops to embrace their tasks without hesitation. They assured the personnel that with faith in God, success in Southern Lebanon was within their reach. The occasion was crowned with the consecration of the colours.
