The Jungle Warfare School (JWS) has held a closing ceremony for the Southern Command Basic Non-Commissioned Tactical Course (BNTC) 1-25 on Friday, 19 September 2025, at Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region. The 5-week course which saw fifty Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) drawn from various Units under the Command was designed to equip participants with practical jungle warfare tactics, strengthen their leadership abilities at the junior level and build their capacity to plan, execute exercises and operations in line with their ranks and appointments. In his remarks, the Chief Coordinator, Army Training Command, Colonel Prince Tandoh, speaking on behalf of the Commander Army Training Command (CATRAC), Brigadier General Joshua Amanor, highlighted that NCOs serve a vital role as the backbone of GAF and stated that the course prepares them to make swift and tactical decisions and ensure that every action taken supported GAF’s mission. Colonel Tandoh explained that students were also taught the values of leadership which enables them to excel in their chosen careers and therefore cautioned that the knowledge and skills acquired should be put into practice. Corporal Ngborson Frank, Lance Corporal Darko Isaac, and Lance Corporal Aggrey Aaron were adjudged first, second and third best students respectively on the course.
