Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Kofi Akoto Appau and Lt Col Peter Afreh, Commanding Officers of 3 Battalion of Infantry and Armour Training School respectively have been inducted into office on 27 October 2024. During the religious service at the Saint Theodore Catholic Church, Liberation Barracks in Sunyani, the 3 Garrison cleric noted that the commanders were chosen as instruments for a divine purpose and advised them to seek strength in God. The Bono Regional Minister, Hon Justina Owusu Banahene, congratulated the COs, urging them to maintain discipline within their ranks and collaborate closely with other security agencies ahead of the general election. She emphasized the Ghana Armed Forces’ role in maintaining peace and called on the new commanders to uphold GAF’s strong reputation. Brigadier General Michael Opoku, General Officer Commanding Central Command, encouraged the new COs to adopt an open-door policy and foster teamwork to drive progress.
