The Ghana Armed Forces has inaugurated the second edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference 2024 (IDEC 24) at Burma Hall on Wednesday 28 August 2024. The two-day event began with an opening ceremony marking the start of discussions and exhibitions focused on Defence and Security. The event themed "Enhancing Regional Mechanisms for Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges in Africa, aims to foster collaboration and innovation in addressing critical issues " was officially opened by the President of Ghana and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In his address, President Akufo-Addo extended his congratulations to the various heads of security institutions across Africa, as well as to exhibitors and stakeholders from around the world, for their participation in the conference. He emphasized the importance of bringing together diverse ideas and cutting-edge technologies to tackle the security challenges facing the African sub-region.
