This gesture was in response to a request by the Kpeshie Medical Centre (KMC) through the Command to the Ministry of Health to aid in acquiring essential medical equipment for enhanced healthcare delivery. Additionally, Dr Okoe-Boye donated 60 LED street lights to the Command, underscoring the significance of inter-ministerial collaboration for national development. Reflecting on his personal experiences, the Minister mentioned how the KMC and the Ghana Armed Forces influenced his formative years in Teshie, shaping his character and achievements. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brigadier General Samuel Yeboah Asare, expressed gratitude to the Minister and his team, noting that the funds would significantly support KMC in providing essential medical services to both soldiers and the surrounding community. He emphasized Honourable Okoe-Boye’s enduring support for the Command and pledged the judicious use of the donations. The Minister for Health, Honourable Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, has presented a cheque for One Hundred Thousand Cedis (GHS₵100,000.00) to Headquarters Southern Command on Tuesday 5 November 2024.
