Head of Mission for the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG), Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Andreas Heselschwerdt, has assured of continued support to enable GAF address internal and external security threats. He made the assurance during a discussion that focused on matters of mutual concern when he visited the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General (Maj Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, at his office in Burma Camp on Tuesday, 9 July 2024. The COAS acknowledged GAFTAG's significant contributions in equipping the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and expressed appreciation for the support. He also emphasised the need for targeted capacity building initiative to empower the Ghana Army especially, the engineer corps to enable it effectively support national development projects. Maj Gen Onwona also urged the Head of GAFTAG to explore opportunities for GAF personnel to participate in training courses in Germany to enhance their expertise and skills.
