The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo has on Wednesday 8 October 2025 paid an operational visit to troops of the 10 Mechanized Battalion deployed in Chereponi to assess their operational readiness, welfare, and morale. He commended them for their dedication to duty and urged them to maintain high morale despite the challenging nature of their deployment and limited resources and further advised them to uphold professionalism and remain committed to their duties. The GOC also emphasized on the importance of personal hygiene and proper maintenance of equipment while cautioning them against recruitment fraud. Brig Gen Agbebo stressed the need for vigilance given the security situation in the Northern Sector and the growing terrorist threats from the Sahel Region. Embrace the “See Something, Say Something” initiative he added. He also encouraged them to raise public awareness and sensitize local communities to report suspicious activities along the border.
