GMA HOLDS CHANGE OF STATUS PARADE FOR SMC 64

The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) has held a change of status parade for cadets of Standard Military Course (SMC) 64 at the Whistler Barracks, Teshie on Friday 24 January 2025.

The ceremony marks the intake’s transition from the SMC phase to the Regular Career Course (RCC) Phase, transforming them into resilient leaders who can adapt to situations, lead with courage and thrive in their military careers.

The Reviewing Officer, Deputy Commandant GMA, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Lloyd Kwaku Atror in his remarks, emphasised the significance of the ceremony which marks an important turning point in the training towards commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

He highlighted that the SMC phase laid the foundation for the development of leadership qualities and the basis upon which cadets build further training essential for their journey in the service.

Brig Gen Atror further encouraged the cadets to remain disciplined and dedicated to be successful in the Military Academy. He further urged them to maintain the highest standards of excellence in both academics and physical fitness

He also assured the cadets of the commitment on the part of the academy’s instructors to supporting their success hence, should seek guidance whenever the need arises.

The Deputy Commandant conferred on the cadets their new status of Intermediate Cadets and re-designated the intake from Standard Military Course (SMC) 64 to Regular Career Course (RCC) 64. He congratulated the cadets on their new status and urged them to up their game to be able to surmount all obstacles to achieve the ultimate goal of commissioning into GAF as officers.
