The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) has conducted a two-day medical outreach and health screening at Ashanti-Kpoeta in the Ho West District of the Volta Region from 14–15 January 2025. The Commandant of the Ghana Military Academy, Major General Charles Agyemang-Prempeh in his remarks, stated that the outreach aimed to show appreciation to the community for supporting and hosting cadets for their exercises. The midwife in charge of the CHPS Compound Madam Florence Atike, expressed gratitude to the GMA for the thoughtful gesture which benefited a total of 734 people from the Kpoeta Traditional Area. She added that an average of 18-20 patients turn up at the facility daily for treatment while a handful of sick people in the area often choose to stay at home with their ailments due to financial difficulties. The Senior Medical Officer of the Ghana Military Academy, Major Fuseni Sylvester Alhassan, advised the people of Ashanti-Kpoeta to pay serious attention to their health and visit the nearest medical centre for frequent checkups. As part of the activities, GMA also donated library books to Ashanti-Kpoeta Basic School to enhance their reading skills.
