The Commandant, Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Major General Matthew Essien, has invited the Chief Justice Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo to the Republic Day lecture at the college.
The formal invitation follows a visit by Major General Essien to the office of the Chief Justice in Accra on Thursday 20 June 2024, where he emphasised that her presence would positive impact on the lecture and significantly strengthen the relationship between the two institutions. He also appealed to the Chief Justice to allow some judges to contribute to the programmes at the college and offer valuable legal perspectives to the learning environment to ensure that future military
leaders are abreast with the legal implications of their actions.
In her response, the Chief Justice praised the idea of interdisciplinary collaboration, noting that it would greatly benefit both institutions in fulfilling their respective constitutional mandates.
She assured the Commandant of attending the Public Lecture on the scheduled date.
The Commandant was accompanied by the Chief Coordinator, Colonel Maxwell Mantey, and the Chief Instructor, Academic Affairs, Junior Division, Colonel Dominic Boah.
