The Head of Mission, German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG) Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Heselschwerdt has visited the National Dog Academy (NDA) at Okponglo, Accra on Thursday 19 September 2024. The visit which sought to strengthen ties with the National Dog Academy, also demonstrates the robustness of the partnership between both institutions. The Provost Marshal, Brigadier General Jackson Wonje, expressed gratitude to the German delegation for their unwavering support and cooperation. He stated that the academy has become renowned for its exceptional dog training services which focus on protection, drug detection, and security operations in Ghana. He emphasised that the capability of the Academy has been significantly enhanced through the assistance GAFTAG has provided in renovating the training school, storage facilities, as well as the provision of modern training kennels. Lieutenant Colonel Heselschwerdt, was accompanied by the Resident Dog Trainer and Project Coordinator, Warrant Officers Class One (WOI) Michael Bladt and Rene Lau.
