Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services (GAFMS) in partnership with Burma Camp Pharmacy, Colgate and Bel-Aqua have organised oral health awareness program as part of World Oral Health Day on Wednesday 20 March, 2024. The program dubbed ‘A happy mouth, is a happy body’ sought to educate students in some selected primary schools in Burma Camp on the effects of oral hygiene on their general wellbeing. The Principal Physician Assistant at the 37 Military Hospital Dental Department, Warrant Officer Class I (WOI) Nortey Adjeley Abigail, in a PowerPoint presentation, highlighted the importance of Oral hygiene. She emphasised that the practice of good oral hygiene prevents dental carries, helps in the removal of dental plaque, strengthens teeth and prevents gum diseases. WOI Nortey later demonstrated good ways of brushing and maintaining healthy teeth, and urged students to brush their teeth every morning and evening.
