Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Major General (Maj Gen) Matthew Essien has extended an official invitation to the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA) ahead of the Republic Day Lecture. This follows his courtesy call on the leadership of RCOA on Thursday 27 June 2024. Gen Essien outlined programs offered by the College which includes the introduction of a PhD program in Defense and International Politics and sought the Association's expertise and experience to enrich the program. He also highlighted the focus on modernizing the curriculum of the College and introduce a course in Multi-Domain Operations. The President of RCOA, Brigadier General Samuel Yanyi-Akofur (Rtd), congratulated Maj Gen Essien on his appointment and praised the initiative to engage the Association. He expressed enthusiasm for the PhD program and requested greater involvement in the exercises and supervision of Officers and Directing Staff of the College.
