The Ghana Armed Forces Education Corps has held an annual teachers’ school awards and send-off ceremony at the Arakan Officers Mess Burma Camp on Thursday 28 March, 2024. The ceremony was aimed at celebrating the hard work, dedication, commitment and excellence embodied by the 5 Garrison teachers. The Chief Garrison Education Officer (CGEO), Colonel (Col) Livingston Penti in his address, applauded the teachers for their hard work, knowledge and profound impact in shaping the future. ‘In a world inundated with noise and distractions, teachers stand as beacons of knowledge, wisdom and aspiration’, he added. He further highlighted efforts by high command to support and empower educators to ensure they have the resources, recognition and the respect they deserve. Col Penti emphasised that these retirees who served between 17 to 39 years have dedicated their lives to the noble profession of teaching, instilling not only academic knowledge but also values of integrity, resilience and compassion. Awards were presented to all 20 retirees drawn from the 5 Garrison education schools. Other awards included the Most Improved School, Most Outstanding School, The Presidential Award and some facilitators from various Kindergarten to Junior High Schools within the garrison.
