The donation, held at the Ward Room of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Tema, aims to support WARNO’s initiatives within the fishing sector. Speaking on behalf of the Minister, the President of the Ghana National Canoe Fishermen Council (GNCFC), Nana Jojo Solomon, conveyed the Minister’s enthusiasm for WARNO’s efforts to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s fishing industry. He pledged continued support for the association’s endeavours, emphasising that the donation marks a significant boost to their operations, aligning with the broader goals of the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Mrs Emelia Dzang, President of WARNO, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister and her representative for their support. The Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Maxwell Arhen, also extended appreciation to the Minister and assured that the outboard motor would be well-maintained to prolong its service. The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD), Honourable Mavis Hawa Koomson, has donated a Yamaha outboard motor to the Wives Association of Retired Naval Officers (WARNO) on Tuesday 12 November 2024.
