The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Technical Training School (EMETTS) in Burma Camp, Colonel (Col) Henry Kwesi Nditsi, has officially opened the Basic Class III Course 1 on Thursday 8 February, 2024. He indicated that the 22 weeks course was in line with the objectives of the Ghana Armed Forces to enhance intellectual development and training of personnel to be professionally competent in their various trades. Col Nditsi also lauded the students for ceasing the opportunity to upgrade their professional capabilities and stressed on the need for both staff and students to maintain a high standard of professionalism throughout the course. He hinted that the Military High Command would address challenges such as lack of library, research laboratory, as well as auditorium among others and lauded the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group and affiliate institutions such as the Accra Technical University and Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for their support. The 6-month intensive course comprised of 178 students drawn from the three arms of service including Defence Civilian Staffs and a civilian with the objective of equipping them with fundamental skills to overcome the challenges posed by the evolving advancement in technology.
