Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah said to visit was to enable him pay homage, seek guidance and blessings of the Chief Imam following his elevation to the highest rank and appointment in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He assured Sheikh Sharubutu of GAF's continuous support in maintaining peace and stability in the country, adding that, GAF would continue to play its role professionally before, during and after the 2024 elections. Sheikh Dr Sharubutu in his remarks, wished the CDS well in all his endeavors and pronounced the blessings of Allah on him. He also advised the CDS to be patient, reiterating that patience was the foundation for further success. The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Nuhu Osman Sharubutu, on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, at his residence in Fadama, Accra.
