The Army Special Operations Brigade (ASOB) has organised Pre-selection and Assessment Exercise at Northern Command for personnel who desired to be members of the special group from 15 to 20 October 2023. The exercise was aimed at testing the mental and physical endurance of troops in other to select eligible participants for the Basic Special Forces Course (BSFC). In all, a total of 57 soldiers drawn from Airborne Force, 6 Infantry Battalion, 155 Armoured Regiment, 10 and 11 Mechanised Battalion were tested on physical fitness, 8km rucksack run, swimming, aptitude test, essay writing, minor tactics, and 10km buddy run with G3 riffle, among others. At the end of the pre-selection exercise, 16 soldiers qualified for the Basic Special Forces Course 1-24.
