The exercise marked the final phase of the Unit’s Operation Peace Trail pre-deployment training, organised in conjunction with other security agencies to boost confidence in weapon handling, assess weapon serviceability, and evaluate proficiency. The Commanding Officer of the 6 Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Jerry Yao Ankuyi, and other key personnel participated in the exercise, which also formed part of the Annual Personal Weapons Test for the Unit. The range exercise included classification and selected practices with troops’ personal rifles and pistols.
The 6 Infantry Battalion has conducted a three-day range exercise at the Army Special Operations Training School in Daboya from 5 to 8 November 2024 to enhance personnel’s skills in weapon handling.
