Six soldiers from 6 Garrison, Tamale have recently completed a comprehensive three-months Basic and Intermediate French Course. The course which commenced on 19 June 2023 and concluded on 6 October 2023, was facilitated by the French Language Coordinator of the Ghana Armed Forces, Miss Christelle Has, Mr Elom K Nyonato and Mr Narcisse Couassi. According to Miss Christelle Has, the primary objective of the program was to enhance the language proficiency of the participants and to enable them communicate in the French language. She added that the participants were taken through an array of topics including vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills and conversation practice which would enable them effectively communicate both in formal and informal situations. In line with the motive of fostering international relations and building strong connections with French-speaking communities, 6 Garrison has committed to equipping its personnel with the necessary skills to excel in their roles and better serve their communities. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Military High Command and the resource persons for providing them with the opportunity to participate in the course and acknowledged the positive impact the course had on their personal and professional growth. They expressed their readiness to utilize their newly acquired language skills in their respective roles.
