The annual solemn ceremony involves wreath laying, flag raising and the sounding of siren to signify the signing of the armistice to honour the memories those who lost their lives in pursuit of global peace during the World Wars I and II, as well as celebrate the survivors. The ceremony was graced by the Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhassan Shani Shaibu. On parade were contingents drawn from the 6th Infantry Battalion, 69 Airborne Force, Air Force Base Tamale, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service and a contingent of veterans. 6 Garrison has observed the 79th Remembrance Day Parade at the Veterans Administration Ghana Regional Cenotaph in Tamale, on Monday 11 November 2024.
