Lieutenant Colonel Jean Baptiste Rusanganwa has led a five-member delegation from the Rwandan Defence Forces to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on a four-day educational tour from 25 to 29 August 2025. The visit was aimed at studying GAF’s best practices in developing and maintaining professional Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) corps, with focus on recruitment, training, leadership and career development structures. The Director Human Resources at GAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Thomas Niifio Okai assured the delegation of the commitment of GAF to supporting the objectives of their mission for possible adaptation in Rwanda. The delegation received briefing on the recruitment and selection processes of personnel and introduced to the identity, roles and responsibilities of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs). The team was also taken through a training module and development programme with emphasis on the importance of fostering effective relations between NCOs and Officers within the military hierarchy. Lieutenant Colonel Rusanganwa commended GAF for the hospitality and knowledge-shared. He pledged to apply the valuable lessons gained during the educational tour to enhance the capacity of the Rwandan Defence Forces.
