The Prestige French Language Centre at the Ghana Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) has held an opening ceremony for Basic/Intermediate course at the School of Education, Whistler Barracks, Teshie on Wednesday 16 July 2025

The 16-week course, which is to enhance intellectual development and improve operational collaboration with Francophone counterparts, comprises 10 participants drawn from the Ghana Armed Forces, Defence Civilian Staff, and other sister security services

Speaking on behalf of the Commandant TRADOC Air Commodore Maxwell Arhen, the Chief Coordinator TRADOC Colonel Gyebi Abrokwa expressed confidence that participants would make the most of the opportunity provided by the Ghana Armed Forces to enhance their education and become valuable assets to both the military and the nation.

He further stated that, considering Ghana’s geographical location, surrounded by francophone countries, the learning of the French language is critical and a fundamental component to enhance military readiness for GAF personnel.

He emphasised that TRADOC schools are known for their strong culture of discipline and high standards, and therefore expected all participants to uphold these values throughout the course.

In her opening remarks, the Commanding Officer of the School of Education, TRADOC, Lieutenant Colonel Hilda Asiedu encouraged commands, formations, and various units of the Armed Forces to take advantage of the opportunity to learn the French language and improve on their proficiency.
