The Regional Representative of Paramount International Group, Mr Saul Bermudez has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) William Agyapong at the General Headquarters on Friday 1 August 2025.

The visit was aimed at strengthening ties between the global aerospace and technology company and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and also discuss ongoing projects undertaken by the company for GAF.

Mr Bermudez congratulated CDS on his appointment and briefed him on several projects currently undertaken at the northern borders of Ghana. He added that these projects would bolster border security and enhance the operational capabilities of GAF in the region.

He reiterated the commitment of Paramount Group to supporting the efforts of Ghana to maintain peace and security.

Lt Gen Agyapong on his part emphasised that the Northern Border Security project has been of interest to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the government of Ghana, especially given the recent incidents of terrorism near the borders.

He stated that the project has been incorporated into the "Big Push" agenda of government, highlighting its strategic significance. He also noted that several Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) were nearing completion, which would provide adequate security and a rapid response capability in the region.

The CDS expressed his appreciation to the Paramount International Group and emphasised the importance of continued collaboration to address the evolving security challenges in the sub-region.
